Why you should join:
As a Prototyping Engineer at TE Connectivity the Netherlands, you will be responsible for designing and building prototype tooling and components, combining design skillset with hands-on machining and assembly know-how. You will take ownership of prototype realization from concept to physical part, supporting the development of connectors, contacts, and cable solutions. We are looking for a practical, proactive engineer with a strong hands-on mindset, capable of solving problems on the shop floor, taking responsibility for results, and contributing to a professional, collaborative team environment built on integrity and open communication.
Your main tasks:
Design and develop tooling and fixtures to support prototyping activities
Execute prototyping work, incl., conventional milling, tooling assembly, and modificationµ
Support development processes through prototype builds and troubleshooting
Collaborate with Engineering teams to understand design intent and translate it into functional prototypes
Contribute to development and validation of engineering solutions and new manufacturing processes
Ensure proper documentation of designs and data collection of results
Your ideal profile:
Required Qualifications & Experience
HBO or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or related field
5+ years of experience in tooling design, preferably using Creo, in prototyping environment
Hands-on experience with conventional machines, and tool assembly
Proven track record of delivering engineering solutions in a prototyping environment
Experience with rapid prototyping technologies (e.g., 3D printing, Wire EDM, laser cutting)
Familiarity with connector, contact, cable-wire products assembling, stamping and molding process.
Skills & Competencies
Ability to work independently and take initiatives driven by quality, sustainability, productivity
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams
Strong hands-on mentality combined with technical understanding
High level of ownership and accountability
Proactive, solution-driven, and able to act quickly in a dynamic environment
Fluent in English, and Dutch (preferable)
