As a Senior Project Controller at Faber Group, you will be ultimately responsible for the financial management of complex, organization-wide projects. You will act as a strategic finance partner for Project and Program Managers, providing insight into budgets, forecasts, risks, and value creation. With your oversight, depth, and seniority, you will ensure financial stability, predictability, and sound decision-making within a dynamic, international context.

About the role

The Project Controller is responsible for ensuring the financial health and transparency of projects within the organization. They act as a trusted finance partner to Project and Program Managers, providing proactive advice on cost optimization, financial risks, and resource allocation. The role includes leading the development, monitoring, and reporting of project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, as well as tracking project benefits and identifying deviations from the business case.

The Project Controller champions process improvement and efficiency in project control methodologies, ensuring accurate and standardized financial tracking and reporting. They maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and procedures, supporting organizational governance and audit readiness.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Leads the development, monitoring, and reporting of project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with Project and Program Managers to develop accurate project cost estimates, financial models, and robust business cases, ensuring financial implications are clearly understood.
  • Prepares comprehensive financial reports for stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and providing actionable insights.
  • Analyses project performance metrics to identify deviations, risks, and opportunities, recommending corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Implements and enhances project control processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency, accuracy, and standardization in project financial tracking and reporting.
  • Acts as a trusted finance partner, providing proactive advice on cost optimization, resource allocation, and financial risks.
  • Maintains independent and proactive stakeholder management, building strong relationships across projects while ensuring timely and reliable financial guidance.
  • Ensures governance and compliance, maintaining audibility, transparency, and internal controls over project financials, and supporting potential audits.

  • Ensures the financial health of projects, achieving alignment between budgets, forecasts, and actual performance while tracking project benefits.
  • Provides actionable insights to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making and risk mitigation for project and program management.
  • Delivers continuous improvement in project control processes, improving efficiency, accuracy, and standardization across financial tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Maintains robust compliance and governance, safeguarding the integrity of project finances and ensuring adherence to financial policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Acts as a strategic finance partner, contributing to cost optimization, resource allocation, and proactive management of financial risks.
  • Supports organizational objectives through reliable reporting, timely analysis, and effective stakeholder communication.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business economics or an equivalent analytical study such as Economics or Mathematics
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in project control.
  • Proven track record in business partnering and excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, able to reduce complex and/or large volumes of data to a readable, high-level overview.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Naturally curious, with the ability to create structures and navigate complex data landscapes.
  • Authentic and approachable demeanour, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, organized, and disciplined.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Conditions

  • Salary range: €70.000 – €106.000 (including holiday allowance)
